Good afternoon Lavoy and everyone,
I have my truesty slightly rusty 420 parked in a very nose down position and everytime I try to start it the starter locks up. I have had this once before and just unbolted the starter and put it back and everything was ok but now it is doing it everytime I try to start. I am wondering is there a spring that makes the starter drive come back to the idle position or is it only the spin of the engine when it cranks. If it there is no spring it may be that gravity is letting the drive go forward and lock up against the fly wheel and I will have to get the crawler moved to get it to start or hand crank if I can find a crank.
Thanks for all your help in advance,
Bill
