Nowhere else to turn...

Post by cloverlink » Thu Nov 15, 2018 6:48 pm

My wife and I inherited a 1959 or 1960 JD ICD from her father who passed in March. We don't need it, but us 3 have had a time trying to "extract" it, but to no avail. We are wanting to sell it. It has model#: 831
Serial number#: 3354
At least let me know what we have please. I have some pics, if anyone can help either way

Welcome to the forum,

Condolences on the passing of your wife's father.

It looks like you have posted the serial number of the loader attachment itself. It is a model 831 loader, serial number 3354, this is just the loader attachment. There should be another tag for the crawler itself. I believe the tags for the diesel 440s was on the console, below the dash. Look on the upright console, ahead of the gear shift lever and you should see a tag similar to the one you found on the loader. That will be the ID tag for the crawler itself.

About where are you located? State, province, etc., it will help for people to have an idea of where the machine is if you want to sell it. Is it currently in running and workable condition? Do you know when it was last run?

Thank you for your condolences. We are located in Sparta,TN and we aren't sure when it was last run, nor do we know about current conditions regarding maintenance needs. We just know the bare essentials. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Also, I will get the proper serial and model numbers tomorrow at first light. Thanks again

Curious if you sorted this out? What do you mean by "extract"?
