MC generator belt

Post by krob » Wed Nov 21, 2018 11:26 pm

Can anyone tell me the size and length belt I need for the generator? Mine broke and I lost the belt somewhere before I got the replacement.

Thanks rob

I don't have a hands on answer but here is what I found from the books. The JD number for the MC generator belt from the parts catalog is L4201T (22.75" effective length, .554" width, .281" thickness, 42 degree angle). Gates crosses it to # 2230 or a "construction alternative" (heavier duty) # 6823. The Fan belt is M266T (34.530" effective length, .801" width, .422 thickness, 42 degree angle) and crosses to Gates # TR26341. Someone on here with a MC may have different numbers they run.

Thanks you Jim.

My plan is to go to the local tractor supply and see if I can cross it to a universal belt. So thanks for all the information.

A-A21 and A-L4201T (4L230) were shown as an alternative part numbers on the JD parts site. Their Alternative parts are usually A&I from what I have found, since JD is part owner of A&I. 4L230 is a common belt. I gave you the Gates number for an automotive belt before.
