440ic water pump rebuild

Post by Donnybrook » Sat Feb 23, 2019 11:48 am

Can anyone give me info on which kit, if any I should be getting to rebuild the water pump on my 440ic? I've found kits but none as far as I can tell are specifically for my pump (M3038T housing) I've found some of the parts on John deere (canada) shaft for $75, Impeller is $235, no retainer clip available with the part number I have for it off of the parts manual. The parts places that do have rebuild kits list it for a 440 which I'm assuming is the skidder, not the ic. Any help greatly appreciated as I've spent a lot of time searching already and I would hate to order the wrong parts as it is such a pain in the *** trying to get anything up to Canada, never mind trying to ship back wrong parts.

Ok, so after burning my eyeballs out trying to find the proper kit online, I went back to the JD site and loaded up on all the parts for my pump in a basket. minus the impeller as it is a crazy price and mine is ok I think (hope) comes to 114 buck cad. I did find the retainer on there as well, just had to use the "replaces" number. I'm holding off on the order till Monday morning in case someone jumps in and calls me crazy and says buy this here kit for 20 bucks.

Gasoline or diesel engine? There is a difference.

He is calling it 440IC not 440ICD so I would assume he means gasoline. But...........

I sell rebuilt pumps for $125, new ones for $215. Impellor will not be good, it will be rough where the seal runs. Used to rebuild my own pumps, that is why I don't any more.

Thats great! I just made it to JD in time to cancel the order I placed this AM! I'm glad to hear you have one because my housing looks pretty worn out too. It's after 5 now so I'll call you in the morning to arrange the order, thanks. I guess I bought that press for nothing but hey, now I have a press!
