Interior Paint?

Post by gregmech » Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:27 pm

After disassmebly and cleaning I found that the inside of the transmission case and steering housings are painted a light green, reminds me of the old Detroit 2 stroke color. Does anyone know what this paint is or if it is supposed to be in there? What is the correct way to finish the insides of these housings?

I wouldn't think there should be paint in there. Maybe it's supposed to stop rust from the condensation that can collect in there.

It is a porosity sealer so to speak. Only one I know of is Glyptol, but sure there are lots more.
