440ic missing
440ic missing
my 440ic just started missing, have new distributor cap and need to know if anyone knows if auto stores would have the proper condenser, points and plugs,and what do i ask for...obviously they can't crossmatch... being as Ma Deere are closed for weekend...wnted to get er done before rain!!!!!! plugs showing carbon.

I think NAPA can look up the machine to find the plugs, points, and condenser it requires.

Well the little booger is back up again! Really looks like it was actually just the condenser...checked points after replacing with new and contacts look fine. i had reset original points after putting in new plugs just to see if they were problem...nope, so pulled old points and condenser and replaced both. starts up and purrs! Condenser sure makes difference. By the way i checked cylinder pressure and both check out at 120

Seems like condenser quality is dropping, many posts on other forums about bad condensers. I hang on to the old condenser when I change them in our wheel tractors, just in case. Knock on wood I haven't had a problem with the Blue Streak ignition parts I use in them.

120 is very good compression.

I stock pretty much all of the ignition parts as well as plugs and wire sets.
