Lift cylinder seals..

Post by Jirving43 » Tue Apr 23, 2019 8:05 pm

So both my lift rams were leaking at wiper seal... I replaced the seals and the o-ring.. Both side.. When firing it back up any slowly cycling the cylinders it blew both wiper seal out of the Damn cast iron housing! ... Wtf! Is there a trick to this?... The left side I tapped back in and its fine.. The right side was missing a 1/4 of the plastic ring that lays next to the o-ring in the cast cap.. So it's leaking again.. Worse than before  Lavoy u got that plastic ring?? I can get the seals local there a national 471737.. Get them at any auto parts store.

Not on hand. Check with a local hyd shop, might be a common size.

Out of curiosity only, I must have missed the first of this. What size crawler are you working on? Is this a bulldozer blade or a loader? Or????

Most kits are obsolete, I have been able to piece together the necessary parts in the past.
