Re: sprocket inserts
Why not new sprocket? Seems like a lot of work to install the weld on.

Re: sprocket inserts
Not made for the small diameter bushing sprockets I don't believe, but could be wrong. Also don't thing you get enough accumulated wear to use them on a smaller sprocket.

Re: sprocket inserts
Greg- new sprockets for 2010s have long been obsolete from Deere and as I understand it the foreign aftermarket suppliers have never bothered to make them, sprocket weld on rings or inserts for 2010s due to small demand as Lavoy indicated. There were some NOS sprockets floating out there but that was years ago and Lavoy would have told you if he had some. Probably at this point the best bet would be to find a good used set.

Re: sprocket inserts
Didn't know they're obsolete. I sorta thought 350 sprockets might work. Back when I had a 1010c, I think I used 350 rollers.Tigerhaze wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 8:01 pmGreg- new sprockets for 2010s have long been obsolete from Deere and as I understand it the foreign aftermarket suppliers have never bothered to make them, sprocket weld on rings or inserts for 2010s due to small demand as Lavoy indicated. Re: sprocket inserts
Back in the day,and I'm talking 60 years or better sprockets were routinely welded up.My dad did this with a hard face rod on his 420c 30 years ago. I did the same on my first JD crawler. The old mans crawler has just about used up a new set of pins and bushings but the sprockets are fine.It takes time and it isn't the best solution but useable 2010 sprocket are very rare used.

Re: sprocket inserts
I've been looking for an affordable, good used sprocket for quite some time now with no luck. I may just have to resort to some type of custom made insert or the hard surface approach as Jim suggested.

No idea what this is, or if you are interested in checking, but I ran across this. https://glensfalls.craigslist.org/hvo/d ... 48516.html
Re: sprocket inserts
We had a discussion about resurfacing 2010 sprockets in the past on here and at one point a former Deere employee shared some spec information from the original 2010 sprocket parts drawings. I want to say the tooth pockets were a Rockwell hardness of 45 but going by memory and what it would take to resurface with a similar hardness. If you do some searching you might be able to find that discussion thread.
