Gearmatic 8a

Post by Jaybird » Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:15 pm

Hey all,
It's been a while since I've been on. I am working on getting this 8A winch going. Anybody have any idea where I can find controller parts? Also need new bearings. Does anyone have pics of a rebuild and part numbers?
Thanks, Jason

I have some parts on hand, and some more available.

If Lavoy doesn’t have the parts you need, I have a list of parts I used to completely rebuild my 8a winch and controller. I also have a manual available to email. I also have posted rebuild pics of the winch here. Just search my my name.

Thanks notmeu,
Working on getting break band spring tensioner adjuster out of the bottom. Any advise on removal? Also if you have the numbers for the bearings that you used that would be helpful
Many Thanks

I was able to remove my plug using a torch with a rosebud tip, some heat makes a big difference. I think I also used some 1/2” flat plate to make a large screwdriver to turn the nut out with a large pipe wrench to turn the plate.
