Broken Idler Bracket

Post by BobDes » Wed Sep 25, 2019 9:23 am

Somehow a large rock jammed between the track and the idler wheel bracket. Of course the casting broke into two pieces where it attaches to the idler wheel shaft. Would gladly replace the bracket if available but can this be welded?

They weld pretty fair, they are cast steel, not cast iron. Vee it out deep and fill back in. Be careful to keep every thing square when welding. Worst case scenario, I have them on hand.
