440 ic flywheel resurface

Post by gaspumpsam » Tue Oct 29, 2019 8:18 am

Had flywheel resurfaced( someone had put new clutch and pressure plate and was only contacting 1/2 of flywheel surface)
We used the ridge that was left as a guide for the depth between flywheel surface and where pressure plate bolts to on flywheel.
Does anyone know proper depth?

All you can do is surface where the disc rides til it is square. Take what ever you can off the top til it is getting close to the ring gear. When you reinstall the new clutch, you need to set the pressure plate with the gauge, that will compensate for any difference in wear or machining.

Tks. When I get assembling, I will look for a gauge.
