1010 crawler

Post by willywagon » Mon Nov 04, 2019 9:05 am

I have not had a chance to look at the machine , but he has a 1010 crawler for sale it has a 2-53 jimmy that goes with it, but no reverser. my question is I realize the 1010 did not come with the 2 cyl engine either in gas or diesel. would the 2-53 bolt up to the 1010? thanks for any info

You will find posts elsewhere stating that they will, but they won't. Even if you could bolt it in there is no way start it, the ring gear is on the opposite side of the flywheel.
Is it possible it is a 440, and that is why the extra engine?

thanks so much for the info. I was suspicious it would not, as a nother fellow that has worked on lots of them says the same as you do.now the owner picked it up hoping to fix it but only seems to know what the previous owner has to say.i asked him to see if it has a serial no. but he cant find it.where should he be looking if it is a 440? thanks again

Someone will correct this If I'm wrong. I believe a 440IC (gas) had the serial tag on the left side of the engine clutch housing. The serial number tag on the 440 ICD (diesel) was on the console below the dash, right in front of the operator. On the 1010s, the serial number tag was on the right side of the engine blocks.
