Does anyone know why there would be coolant leaking from the bolts on the pre chambers? I looked through the engine manual and couldnt really find any info on it

I don't know the answer from having hands on, but suspect they may be through holed into the head's water jacket and then tapped. I would drain the coolant and check a couple. If through holed I would use a good sealant on them. The chambers themselves have seals.

Upon further inspection, i have found that its not the bolts leaking and is actually the pre chambers leaking coolant around them. I should have know in the first place! Now i guess i will be resealing them

Ordered new pre chamber o rings from deere, should be seeing them on monday! I also scored a new old stock fuel hand primer for up on the instrument panal. My question is what fuel lines does it go to? The one on here is smashed and only has the one fuel line going to the filter housing. What goes to the other port of the primer?

I think you may be looking at the engine primer starting aid. There were a couple different tubing arrangements based on serial number, you can see them in the parts catalog. I believe the tube you are missing goes to the intake manifold.

Hi,

Is that one of those 'flamethrower' type things the old Perkins (and some newer brands as well) engines used? Argh! The name escapes me now. I got CRS. Can't Remember.....Something.... :P

Anyway, it screws into the manifold. Has a heater element which looks a lot like an old cigar lighter. Heat it up, drizzle Diesel fuel onto it, and hot flames shoot into the intake manifold. Sounds like a kludge, but it actually works.

Edit: ThermoStart! Yeah! That was it! I think, anyway. Unless I still have CRS.... ;) I posted, put the tablet to sleep, and the name popped into my head.

Oh wow that makes sense! I see the spot on the i take where the tube is missing. I figured it went back to a fuel line, would have never guessed the intake! Thanks for all the info, very much appreciated

Hi,

Keep in mind that I was asking how that option works on the 2010. I never had a 2010, so I don't know.

There was a good thread on this site where we specifically discussed the primer pump and how to plumb for the 2010; you would have to do a search on here to find it if it still exists.

Here is the discussion thread for those interested:
