Water Leakage BO Lindemna

Post by judd » Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:28 am

I suspect one of the brass pushrod tubes is leaking around it's seal with the head. Water could be coming from block side and leaking by the head gasket, but I don't think so. Should I try to re expand the tube against its seat in the head (it is a tube that has been in the head a long time) or replace it?

Also another question. Someone has suggested using brass washers under the head bolt nuts rather than the lead washers. How about that?

Thanks much for advice.

Judd

The pushrod tube(s) will need replaced. I have never used brass under the cylinder head nuts. Always used lead, for torque reasons, and they have worked well for me.

Best regards, Bruce
