welded ring to sprocket photo

Post by my fathers son » Fri Mar 20, 2020 2:46 pm

I have seen and made a copy of a real good picture of a 350 ring welded on some model sprocket and of course can’t find the copy or the site it came from. Tend not to think it came from JD crawler but maybe it did. Does anyone know if I’m just crazy or maybe not so much.

Hi,

A common thing is to cut the teeth off a 420 sprocket and weld on a 350 ring sprocket. This lets you use 350 rails on a 420.

I don't know where a pic might be, but it would be a good guess there are some on this site.

You are not crazy. Well, about this. Might be crazy because you like crawlers. Can't fix that! :P

Thre are some pictures in this post about a 420. The problem is they were in Photobucket, so are blurred. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4390&p=20891&hilit= ... ket#p20891

That exact conversion is on my list to do in the future, just never seem to get the time to pursue it further. I am looking at having sprocket rims made for 420-1010 in the future.
