How do I tell year and make of my crawler?
How do I tell year and make of my crawler?
Good afternoon. I recently purchased a crawler and I'm trying to figure out the year and actual model. The previous owner said it was a 1969 2010C but I'm not sure that's right. The numbers I have located on the block are T14886. And T17310T 1. It gas engine. The pictures I pull up seem to look more like a 1010. Thanks in advance for any help given.
Re: How do I tell year and make of my crawler?
Serial number is on the RH front corner of the engine block, or on the LH side of the bellhousing.

Re: How do I tell year and make of my crawler?
The numbers you posted appear to be casting numbers. T17310 comes up as a 2010 water manifold, which it may or may not be. If the number is raised and part of a casting it is just that, a casting number, often not even the part number. The 2010 series serial number is stamped on a metal tag usually located on the right side of the engine block. It should begin 2010C followed by the digits of the unit's serial number. A 1010 will begin with 1010C, then the number. The 1010s and 2010s wheeled and crawlers shared the same yearly serial number ranges.

Thanks. I found it. And as I suspected it's a 1010 C. Serial number is 26250
Re: How do I tell year and make of my crawler?
I think 26250 falls in the 1962 build range.
