If you pull those 6 capscrews you will be removing the Quill (item 21), doing that will let the differential drop out of place. Here is a link to the page in the parts catalog. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sid ... pgId/27975 The cam must be rusted in keep working and tapping it. Only remove the quill if you think there is a problem in the differential. You can use the green arrows at the top of the page to scroll pages or you can clink on the green "420 and 430 Tractors - PC505 - 0 Non Sectionalized Catalog" to get to the index. This catalog includes the 420 and 430 wheel tractors so be sure you look for pages referencing "C" or crawler.
Ok thanks jim , i almost pulled those 6 bolts out just before i posted in here , glad you read my post , lol , sounds like you saved me a huge headache . So you say to just keep working it back and forth maybe and it should come out , thank you i do appreciate it.

There is nothing that holds the cam in. Have you removed the throwout bearing carrier? If not, do so first.

So how does the throw out bearing carrier come out , does the round pin opposite side of the throw out bearing carrier lock screw come off ?

Once you have loosened the adjusting bolt, the carrier should slide off as it rotates somewhat. If not, that is the problem.

Clean, polish, buff, sand, etc., whatever the offending piece was til it shines, apply anti-seize so does not happen again.

If I remember correctly, there are two “studs” on the throw out bearing housing. One seemed to screw in too easily, and could cause interference with the tube; I used locktight to keep it in a good place. The other I also locktighted to allow the bearing to move on the tube freely. Good luck.

You can't loctite the adjusting bolt, that is how you adjust the clutch.
