Post by wwattson » Tue Dec 26, 2006 12:46 pm

Does anyone know the 100% wear limit for rail height and track rollers for a 1010CA? Thanks.

rail height and roller wear limits

Post by JimAnderson » Wed Dec 27, 2006 6:58 pm

Bill,
The total rail height for your rails should be 3.200 inches new.As I understand it the 350 rail the same height and Berco says 2.95 inches
is 100 percent worn out. From what I have seen that should be close
but for a dozer you could run less.A loader would be iffy but most
of us would run what we have until total failure.I have posted new dimensions for bottom rollers based on NOS parts in a previous post
and maybe I should put them in FAQ's but no one has asked for them
there yet.The running surface new is about .400 thick and in my
opinion less than .200 wore out.Heavy pin boss wear will let you know
when the rollers are wore out.So far I have not seen anything else
to go by.Maybe Berco has wear limits for rollers but I don't know.
Hope this helps,JimAnderson

It helps a ton Jim. It seems like some sort of undercarriage evaluation sheet should be running around easily available but to this point, I sure haven't found one. I've found a couple of limits posted here and there but hadn't found anything definitive. Appreciate the help.

rail dimensions and roller wear

Post by JimAnderson » Wed Dec 27, 2006 11:47 pm

Bill,
I agree with you totally and maybe we may get that info through a
web site like this. Thanks Lavoy and Randy! The Berco info came from
Crawler Heaven's website. It covers 350 and newer machines but lucky
for us some of the measurements are the same as the earlier machines.
We can extrapolate the rail dimensions but wear limits for rollers ain't
there.I have spent some time and even more money to get NOS parts
to get dimensions of new track parts. Some of these parts can be brought back as new condition with welding and machining but you have to have
a base line.If you want the original roller measurements for your machine
drop me a line and I'll get them to you.JimAnderson

Wear Limits

Post by Pammark » Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:53 pm

I found a nice Internet site with wear limits for many dozer models, JD included. Goto www.crawlerheaven.com/wearlimits.htm

You have to type this in, I could not find a link from their home page.

I hope this helps.
