40C track parts?

Post by hank » Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:07 pm

Just curious, are the pins & bushings still available for the track on my 40c? I see some bushings on ebay. Just want to start gathering parts before the next pandembic. (perfect time to rebuild a track during lockdown) I know it is a big ordeal to fix the track....................but.................it is fun, right? I love a challenge, ...I love this little dozer!

Normally readily available, I have some in stock, but will be installing them shortly, few day delay to get more.
They will have to be installed with a "track" press.

Mr. Lavoy, should I just call you on the pricing for those parts? I have some sort of a press........gotta figure out how it works. The left side is what concerns me, I think the last owner did alot of work to the right. Thank you, hank

Yes, you can call me.
You don't need just some sort of press, you need a purpose built track press with the correct tooling for the rails you are working on.

Do both sides at the same time or the dozer will walk crooked for a long time.

Mr Lavoy, I can not load a pic on here, cuz I am computer stupid, but if you have the original service manual, (as I do, which was cool to come with my crawler) page 165-10-2 shows exactly what I have. I believe the old timer that had it before me was a hell of a machinist. I have the press guide thing, all the pressing pins, bushing pushers, & backing plates? If worse comes to worse, I will just send you a pic to your emial. The only thing different about my press thing, is that instead of it sitting on a side press, the gentleman before me put a pretty solid backing plate. Guessin; he used some sort of cylinder in there. I have a good friend that is a production manager at a large machine shop, I think I can make it work. i'm sure you have seen this type of track support/press thing? Hank
