440ic Hydraulic Pump

Hi,

I have a 440ic with a 602 dozer blade and a detachable Henry backhoe and it appears to have an OEM hydraulic pump.

Did Deere offer standard pump size upgrades for the 440? The service manual says the stock pump is 8 gpm but the backhoe specs require a 15 to 20 gpm flowrate and the backhoe works well so I would guess the pump is delivering at least 15 gpm.

I need to add a control valve for a #36 ripper set-up and want to size it for the proper flowrate.

You most likely have a crankshaft driven pump which is rated at 15gpm or more depending on how it was optioned. 8 GPM is for the camshaft driven pump.

Yes, the pump is mounted to the crankshaft in front of the engine. Are there any markings on the pump that would help determine which options it has?

Also, is there a service manual and an IPL that covers this pump?

No, most of them are 15GPM. Your pump would have been an add on item, gas dozer crawlers did not use crank driven pumps, it would have come with the backhoe attachment.
No real service manuals, parts are for the most part obsolete.
