440 Engine Clutch

Post by Magoo1 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 7:06 pm

Hey guys, finally got the finals back in action, they seem to work fine. HOWEVER, as I put a load on the machine, the speed slows down. I adjusted the clutch linkage but this did not change the situation.

When I pull the engine, is there anything else to check for. Bearings in the reverser ect. It has a good bit of a "Roar" in 1st and 2nd, can I change any of the transmission bearings from the front? It wants to jump out of 2nd at times.

Thanks for the advice.

Jumping out of gear is typically a tapered gear, but could be bearings.
None of the transmission bearing are serviceable with the engine out, you would have to pull the center section as well. If you do that, you can replace the front 3 bearings.
