free 440 crawler loader

Post by dlang10538 » Wed Sep 23, 2020 7:44 am

I picked up an old 440 crawler loader a few years back and rebuilt both steering final drives with clutches and brake bands from Lavoy. It ran great (diesel) and the hydraulics worked great. I then cleaned it and painted it with a brush. I took it down to my camp in West Virginia where I am building a cabin. My brother went to use it and he backed it up and then tried to go forward and it quit moving. there is a slight clanging noise coming from the front clutch area. there is no reverser on this machine. It still runs great and hydraulics work. I stole the battery. It is sitting out in the middle of a field and I ain't working on it no more. I live 4 hours away in Ohio. Anybody that wants to come to Gandeeville, West Virginia and figure out how to winch it onto a truck can have it for free. I will not part it out. Must take whole. Also, there is a long, gravel, one lane road with a couple of switchbacks leading to the property.

How wide is the blade? Can a 16 foot trailer make it in?

Hi,

I was like: What is wrong with a crawler painted yellow?

Then, I realized that is someone's screen name. :P
