440ic Engine stuck
440ic Engine stuck
Here's a trick I just tried on my 440 ic engine that's stuck, after trying PBBlaster for weeks and trying to get the prybar in the starter hole for a wiggle I thought of a neat trick that worked I took an adapter for putting air in a cylinder to change valve seals put a grease fitting on it after about 5 tubes of grease the motor started to move got the cylinder to move to the bottom after pulling the head and cleaning things up was able to get the motor to turn over will have to be torn down anyway but pushed that stuck cylinder no problems just buy cheap grease as you will use a bit
Re: 440ic Engine stuck
makes sense.. if the valves are closed. the hydraulic pressure created by the grease would increase with each pump of the gun handle.. great idea...

Re: 440ic Engine stuck
Keep in mind that a lever grease gun will develop 8,000psi or more. If the piston is really stuck bad, or the other piston is stuck, you can easily blow the cylinder wall out, bend rods, or break a crankshaft.
