As you probably know, these are susceptible to cracking. I have had 2 crack (had them repaired) and my son-in-law had one crack on a 40. Next time, I will buy a new one. They are probably available from Lavoy.

Anybody know the difference between m1768t and m56t cylinder head ?

M1768T is the casting number for a JD40 head while M56T is the casting number for a JD M head. There must be a difference but I have used the M head on a 40 and haven't had a problem. I am sure Lavoy would know the difference
