Manuals needed for a 420C?

I currently have an operator's manual for the 420 crawler, a service manual for the 420 tractor (SM2019), a parts manual for the 62 blade and a parts manual for the 420 tractor. I also have Duane Larson's service bulletins on CD.

What other manuals would have information that would be useful or needed to repair my 420C? I would like to rebuild both final drives this winter, and also be prepared for other repairs as needed. I seem to remember that some of the earlier manuals for the MC or the 40C had information that also pertained to the 420C.

If you check around in your 420 service manual, I think you will find it refers to the 40 series manual (SM2013) for some required info. I forget just what, but there are some things.

And, then the 40 manual points one toward the M manual for some things. Plus, if you have a Phase III 420c with a reverser, you need the 440 IC manual as well.

I have the operator's manual from these guys. It's a reproduction of the factory one. They also have a service manual that includes the information that is referenced to from the 40 manual. It is 720 pages and I think that will be my next manual. JD's site lists the parts with numbers, it's just a little hard to find the section you want, but that will be my parts lookup for now. Pete
