420 w/61 blade Lift cylinder

Post by Jimmy in NC » Mon Jan 08, 2007 8:27 am

The cylinder on this crawler has been replaced and I was wondering the dimensions of the correct cylinder. This one has a compressed length of 24" which doesn't allow the blade to be picked up but maybe 8" off the ground, if that much. I was wondering if possibly it should be a 20" cylinder which would lift just a bit higher. The only reason I question is when moving arround in the woods it seems to drag alot. It also seems to dig deeper than I could ever need.

This crawler is used mainly for clearing underbrush in wooded areas and manuvering it in and out of ditches is crucial as well as over down obstacles.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions???

Hand clutches, not for everyone.
Steering clutches, for even less.

3" X 8", 3 1/2" bore will work as well, will slow down the lilft speed some.

This is what was put on this tractor... and just a handy tip I've found.

If you raise the blade lift arms and strap them up they won't find the floor and it leaves a little more room under the tractor for jacks, motor hoists, etc. I just have found that everyone likes to move the blade lever when they see it sitting there and down it will fall.
