JD1010 Hydraulic Pump replacement

Post by BroGregory » Mon May 03, 2021 12:41 pm

Front Pump lost a seal on the JD 1010 with loader and backhoe. I think shaft is worn and want to replace the pump for now. The pump that was on it was a CESSNA PUMP 24509-LAK that appears to be re-stamped LDK.

I think the specks for this 1010 Crawler Loader/backhoe require 23.2 GPM @ 1,800 RPM based on what I got from this forum. I think that would mean a pump with a displacement of 42.8 CM3/R. I am assuming that 46.7 CM3/R would be to much.
Looking for a new pump seems to be a 25505-LSA recommended by a dealer who wants $600[Spencer Fluid Power]. That does not have the same size ports. The present pump has 1" Pipe Thread O ring Inlet, and a 3/4" Thread O rings Outlet. The Eaton 25505-LSA has a SUCTION PORT 1.625-12 [1 5/8”]UN-2B SAE O-RING PORT and PRESSURE PORT 1.0625-12 [1 1/16”] UN-2B SAE O-RING PORT. I can adapt the fittings but the in and out pipes and hoses are still 3/4" and 1".
Questions:
Will the hose restrictions cause a problem?
Is there a better suited pump?
Is there a better priced pump or dealer?

If the flow they are quoting you is the same, should not be an issue.
Price seems cheap to me.

Thanks for your comment. And thank you for this forum. It is very helpful. It is all back together and the hydraulics are more responsive. The pump clearly was having problems before it lost a seal.
