2010 fuel system question

Post by dslkevin » Wed Jan 10, 2007 8:17 am

I bought a 2010 diesel crawler with a bad engine. The man I bought it from started to remove to engine before I got it. I do not know how the fuel lines are to be routed. Can anyone help me out with some pictures? The dozer is a late model.
Thanks
Kevin

I am not familiar with this setup but most two filter diesel fuel systems are set up the following way.

1. From the fuel tank to your primary filter
2. Primary filter to supply pump
3. Supply pump to secondary filter
4. Secondary filter to injection pump
5. Return from injection pump back to tank or item 1 or 2 above (suction side between tank and supply pump)

It would be a good ideal to get the factory manual for this unit. It would show this information plus any other information you will need later.

I hope this helps.

Check the "Show and Tell" forum; I posted you some pics there.

The parts and service manuals are helpful for this; I can also get some more pics of my machine if you need them.

The parts manual may be as helpful, because it provides a detailed schematic of this system as well. I don't remember but the routing may not be shown in that so it is good you are getting the service manual.

The pictures I posted are off a diesel loader; the setup on my loader is very similar but not exactly the same. I wouldn't think the dozer setup is different, but I guess that is possible. I'll try to find pics of my system for comparison and post them.

Thanks for the help so far. It looks to me like the fuel comes out of the filter set up and goes around the front of the engine into the injector pump. Another thing, is there is no fuel pump.

If you still need them, I will probably be able to get you some up close pics of my 2010 this Saturday.
