420c track adjustment nut size....

Does any one know what size the nuts on the track adjuster are? I had to split them to get them off and now I am not sure what size they are...

rebuilding my rod adjusters as well. Nuts are 1-8 (1 inch/8TPI)

Hi: I cleaned and lubed my adjusters when I first bought my machine working on the premise it’s not “if, but when” I’d throw a track.
Anyway, I bought two extra nuts from Tractor Supply, and have them on the outboard side of the adjustment screw. They help keep the threads clean and can be reefed on or cut off if needed to gain room for adjustment.
I made sure that I could move all the nuts on the adjusters by hand, then brought the tracks into correct tension.
My efforts have paid off; no thrown tracks (so far). Best regards.Paul
