zenith 14997 carb

Post by pkuzyk » Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:34 pm

I had to replace the TSX777 on my 440IC with a new Zenith 14997.

Has anyone else done this? If so, what did you use for initial carb settings?

Others can correct me if I am wrong, but I would adjust it following the same procedure that is recommended for the original carb. Whatever your initial adjustment, you are going to change it anyway following the "trial and error" process recommended in the manual.

I am assuming initial settings would be different given the different manufacturer. Are the jets the same?

Unfortunately, there was no manual with the new carb so I have to question whether the Zenith works the same re screw in for lean or out for lean?

Have you tried contacting the vendor you bought it from for the instructions? Searching on line it looks like the 14997 is a 267 series carb. This sheet may help you: https://www.steinertractor.com/pdfs/ABC232.pdf No guarantee it's right.
