420 starter

Post by Bret4207 » Sun Feb 06, 2022 7:51 am

Managed to bust the big spring in the starter. I see there are 2 options for a replacement set up- one with the traditional style assembly and one "improved" unit that is sort of self contained. Is one better than the other? The starter itself is rough. I was looking for a rebuilt but I haven't found anything yet. Thanks!

I eventually found some rebuilt starters. Had to look under 430 to find them and then the results fro the 420 came too. Weird. At this point I'm just going to try to get a starter drive. I may rebuild it when it warms up, or may buy a rebuilt. I just need to move wood now.
