New to posting here.
I have a 440 Track Loader (gas, yellow) that is virtually 100% complete and original, right down to all of the flat weights on the rear, the ripper bar and the 6 volt system. Runs great, but steering clutches are tired.
What I don't have is the serial number plate on the left side of the transmission/bell housing. The rivets are there, but the plate is not.
I'm sure the tractor hasn't been stolen in the last 30 years, but I can't account for the years prior to that, and have no idea how to identify which year it is without the plate.
Any other locations for a serial number, way to identify the year? Thank you, and thank you for a great site!
Also, this isn't the 831 loader, it is the straight lifting bar model. Which JD number loader is that one?
I'm just trying to fix my "Iron Deficiency" just like all of you.
Thanks for the time.
Serial Number Plate Missing, What Year is my 440?
Re: Serial Number Plate Missing, What Year is my 440?
Most likely a 58 if it has the #90 loader.
