There will be side to side play even on new pins and bushings, it just depends on link wear. The critical measurement as far as slop is the center to center measuerment across 4 links (5 pins). 23" is new, 23.5 is 100% worn.

I have 23.5+ guess i should look for new chain. I wanted to put new pins and bushings to tighten side to side play. If you look at outside of chain half of bushing is gone. how much distance between center of bushing to edge of chain should there be? I have not looked at the rollers yet whats the wear limit on them. JB

When I rebush rails, I can tighten them up some. I shim the bushing end wide, and the pin end narrow, and that will make quite a difference. Not usually worth getting different rails, and only new is 350 rails which are 4 bolt.
