Checking in for some help. When moving the 420w out of the way of the 420C steering clutch replacement project, an adjusting screw in the 420W's pressure plate snapped, and I had to split the tractor to replace it. I need an a two stage clutch alignment tool to get things back together. I posted on Yesterday's Tractors as well. Can't find anything on the internet. Local JD dealer has not worked on a 420 in "years". Walked around back to check with one of the mechanics - laughed, "cleaned out long ago". Don't have a spare propeller shaft. Could go with a broom stick and electrical tape, but I thought I would check in first - Thoughts? Anyone got one lying around. Thanks!

Have one made. You can measure the shafts on the transmission to get the length needed for each diameter step. The pilot bearing end of the shaft diameter is easy to get. You don't need the splines on the other two steps for the discs, just the diameters at the inside of the splines. It doesn't need to be metal; wood would work.

I don't think I have any extras left to sell, but should have one you can borrow. I made up a bunch years ago, but sold all of them.
