Newbie to crawlers

Hello..well Im going Sat morning to look at a 430C ..unless its a complete mess Ill be buying it..Man says its all there and everything works "Fine"..well ive learned that My 'fine" and others fine tend to be different ..whats going to be my best bet for parts and all that?? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Site.

I had a 430C and it was a great crawler. It had the wet clutch reverser (handle on the left side). If the one you look at has a reverser be sure you use the clutch with it, they are not "clutch less" reversers.

Lavoy, owner and provider of this site, works on and sells parts for vintage JD crawlers. He is a great source for parts and manuals. Because he works on them as well, he has good quality parts and the knowledge to help if you have problems.

Just make shure the undercarriage is in good shape that is a big factor in value on these crawlers when you buy one

Thanks Guys! ..I bought it yesterday ..will be getting this week Reverser ,5 spd 5 roller deluxe seat ..all there and solid just needs a good degreasing from hydraulic oil and pressure wash then I can dig in on detail stuff Im pretty pumped
