JD40c transmission problem
I have a John Deere 40c when I started up in neutral engine, will run for about five minutes and then start going into labor and then quit. I have come to the conclusion that there’s a bearing in the transmission going bad and locking up the motor. Has anybody else experienced this problem? If so, does it require splitting the whole thing to fix it? I feel that that answer will be yes but just wondering.
Re: JD40c transmission problem
Doe it run ok if you push the clutch in when it bogs down? (Meaning it is something beyond the clutch)

Yes it does.

Sounds odd.
If you push the clutch in just before it dies will it come right back up to speed? Will it start right back up if you push the clutch in? How long does it have to sit before it will repeat the start then bog. Just trying to eliminate if it's running out of fuel vs overloading. An almost plugged fuel line would do that.
