1010 Crawler Loader no start after using jump box

Post by milesofmike » Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:51 am

My 1010 crawler loader was having trouble starting. I suspected a drained battery so I used a jump box. Now it won't turn over at all, but it seems to be drawing current from the battery. I suspect the voltage from the jump box was too high for the ole girl. Before I rip it apart and guess what it might be, have any of you had a similar experience and know what to check first? I'll be looking at the ignition switch first. I also read there is a resistor between the switch and starter so that will be the next thing to check, aside from wires.

Could it have jammed the starter drive into the ring gear. You will need to loosen and wiggle the starter; you might even need to remove and reinstall it to get it unlocked, if that is what has happened.

That was it! Removing the starter and putting it back in did the trick. Thanks!
