440 ic Power

Post by ironyetty » Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:09 pm

I was just curious what kind of horse power the 440 ic gas motor has?

Also the dozer was sitting for quite some time before I bought it and the gas has turned to varnish, whats the best way to go about getting all this cleaned out so I can try and fire it up to see what I got?

Thanks in Advance

Clean the tank and fuel lines also replace the filter and clean the sediment bowl if it has one...............Go ahead and rebuild the carberator. it will need it.....also If I were in your place I would change all the fluids just to checl for water in the oil and oil in the water........ no sense in wrecking the engine when there might not be much wrong......

Just what I would do. I would use paint thiner to clean the tank and lines then rinse with fresh gas.

Lots of luck

The first 440's were 30HP, when the diesels came out, the gassers got bumped up to 33HP, this is the flywheel HP, not PTO.
