Hi,
The 'fun' with any model is Deere always makes running changes. And, they are usually called out by serial number breaks shown in the Parts Catalog.
I have seen drain plugs with different styles in different locations on many models.

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
I grabbed a tape measure and checked the drain plug location on my 1010. In the center 3 1/4” forward of the back of the transmission case.
8” forward of the back of the belly pan. The belly pan has 3 holes. It looks like one for the reverser one for the drawbar pin?? And the back one for the transmission drain. You could drop the belly pan or hole saw a hole in it. The parts manual shows the belly pan with 3 holes like the one I have serial # 38752 so a little newer than yours.

The plug in your photo, what case is it in? Drain transmission\differential together? Must drain something!

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
Stan-- re many locations: yes, this has turned into a where's Waldo situation-- From "on the left side," to "sometimes right side", to "on the bottom, in the middle, toward the back".
JimmyD --Ding Ding! I think you've found Waldo! I'm back in NC so couldn't look directly but after further review of some photos (my memory was that it was further back) that is indeed about where I also have a plug. I note too that here is a hole through the skidplate/belly pan there but the drawbar completely blocks it. But if I can get the drawbar loose and swung to the side I should have a clear shot (and hope not to be drenched in oil and water). Thanks once again for checking and applying wrench to metal.
Gus-- Yes, well, having been burned once by following the location shown photo in the owner's and shop manuals and removing what turned out to be a "cap screw" (effectively a bolt) in the reverser, and then locating the next most likely candidate (probably the "poppet holder" for gear shift--which is on the transmission case but removal of which would have caused a bunch of problems), I'm trying to move from the surgeon's motto "don't let a little skin get between you and a diagnosis" to the old astronaut motto: "don't screw up".
And to all: Thanks all. I think I got a positive ID (but the acid test has to wait until I get back up to Wisco in October--the mosquitos should be gone but the woodticks can be fierce). Then I'll be asking you how to get 2.25 gal of transmission fluid down the little dipstick hole that is directly underneath one of the steering levers (just getting the dipstick out can be a challenge!). Thanks all!
