420c reverser through the motions

Post by bscrawler » Tue Jul 18, 2023 8:13 pm

Recently when stripping some sod/ topsoil my reverser seems to be slow to stop for the shift in direction without grinding. Rolling forward come to stop press clutch pull reverser Handel some times a small grind of gears and other times a waiting time to shift without a grind . Any ideas of what repair I’m headed towards..

Not unusual, the clutch might be dragging just enough to keep it spinning. Make sure you don't have excess freeplay in the clutch pedal. Can also be the pilot bearing going bad or already bad and spinning the input shaft.
