Hi Folks,
My 440 has the late 1010 style finals. Much heavier than the earlier ones. Does anyone know if any final from a 1010 would work? The finals look the same but they have bolts for the fenders on a 1010.
Broke my oil pan and took a tooth off the bull gear:(
Thanks.
440 vs 1010 Finals

Internals are different, some other differences, but I BELIEVE they will work. If you have a diesel crawler, gear ratio will be different.

Re: 440 vs 1010 Finals
When rebuilding my 1010 I had to replace a final case. I have an early 1010 according to parts I have identified by my vin is gone. My axles had the large teeth, not the numerous smaller teeth. I got a later model 1010 case and it turned out to be different where the lower axle bearing bosses are. On the older version, the inner bearing boss on the case had a lip on it to hold the bearing and set the preload. On the newer style, the boss was smooth and the bearing cap was different as well. In this version, if I remember right, the bearings were reversed and the preload was achieved differently. I had to have a ring machined to install in the newer case so I could use my old axle. Sorry I can't recall the exact details but I can tell you the cases are different on early 1010's vs newer 1010's.
