1010 reverser filter change puzzle

So I figured I would change the oil and filter on my 1010 diesel but I’ve run into a problem: I removed the reverse oil filter manifold but (because the old filter is still attached to the manifold) I don’t have clearance to pull the manifold-with-filter all the way out because it’s blocked by the side of the belly pan/skid plate. The filter is bolted on to the manifold, so I think the two have to come out together (I can rotate the filter but can’t remove it until I can get the whole thing out but I’m blocked by the skid plate). I’ve rotated things six ways to Sunday but there’s no getting it out between the frame on top and edge of the skidplate below.

Anyone run into this problem or have a solution (neither shop or owners manual mention this little topological nightmare).
