I recently came into possession of a 1962 1010C with an 80" Tilt blade.
The crawler is in very good condition and runs great, But the lift arm cylinders need to be rebuilt.
I know nothing about crawlers, but am fairly mechanically inclined.
I am looking for a couple of cylinder rebuild kits (If such a thing exists...)
The JD parts book shows the leather Cups as part number U 10295 U
I have called numerous local and national retailers and shops.
It appears that JD is the only source for these cups - and they are currently OUT OF STOCK.
ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. - I contacted Lavoy prior to posting this, he did tell me that these parts are difficult to get as John Deere is Out of Stock.
Help needed (and greatly appreciated!!) 1962 1010C
Re: Help needed (and greatly appreciated!!) 1962 1010C
We have a great hydraulics shop in town. I haven't ever taken anything in they couldn't fix. They seem to be able to come with something that will work. Between regular and now metric parts, it possible they can find a replacement.
I'd suggest you take the cylinder to a commercial specialist to find parts.

When I searched using the part number, one of the "official" John Deere sellers (Hartville Hardware) on eBay says they have more than 10 available. I can't say they actually have the cups, you would need to contact them. JD changed some part numbers and dropped the letter suffix, so try both ways for one like this U 10295 U and U 10295. They also sell on Amazon and there it says they have them in stock.
I see you are saying the lift cylinders need to be rebuilt. I may not have hit the right parts catalog yet however so far (have checked several parts catalogs for bulldozers used on 1010s); I have only found that cup part number you gave shown as used in a tilt cylinder. The common cups in the lift cylinders appear to be U 10135 U (or U 10135). What model is your blade? 1010C is the crawler model, the bulldozer has its own model number and what is the publication number of the parts catalog you are using for your bulldozer blade. It should with PC then 3 or 4 digits. Then we can all look at the same thing.
