I need a radiator- what are my options?

This is for a gasoline crawler, no reverser, s/n 34617.

If there are no replacements out there, what about adding stop leak? Any downsides to giving that a try?

Have you taken it to a radiator shop to see if they can repair it?

Too much stop leak may cause problems with plugging the passages (tubes) in the core.

You really should suggest contacting Lavoy, not his competitor, on the website Lavoy provides us to use for free.

Thanks for the suggestions. The radiator shop told me it needs new tanks and a new core for about $1200.

If the radiator shop said it was that bad, shop leak is definitely not an option. $1200 may be your best option. You will know what you have then. You will have to decide if your crawler is worth that cost.

One shows up on eBay for $2200 plus shipping. Some have taken the measurements of their radiator and hunted around to find on a similar size and hose locations then built mounts to hold it in the crawler. This doesn't apply to yours , but just for info, for the radiators that had oil coolers inside them they have mounted aftermarket transmission coolers in front of a non-cooler radiator for the oil.

Have you contacted Lavoy to see if he might have any ideas? Have you used the part number (AT13096) and searched online? If you see some possibilities pick a phone up and call them, don't just rely on what you see on the web.

I've been searching for a while for a radiator replacement, too. I ran across this online. It might be a cheaper solution. I won't be getting back to my dozer for a few months, so if you go this route let us know how it works out.

Use a Griffin Street Rod radiator. 1-70208 It's 1" shorter than stock. Thickness and width are the same. Original frame of the radiator was unsoldered and the aluminum radiator was pop riveted to it. The inlet and outlet are in slightly different locations and need a custom hose or have a shop move them to the correct location. The fan shroud fits perfect.

I'd post a picture, but haven't figured out how to do that, yet.
