420C track pad bolts

Post by 420C-Mike » Wed Jan 31, 2024 12:49 pm

After about 3 years I am finally reassembling the tracks for my 420 in which lavoy previously installed new pins and bushings. I need to order hardware for my 2 bolt pads. I just realized the parts manual does not give sizing information and the crawler is about 3.5 hours away so I cant easily run out to the barn to measure the old bolts and parts.. Appreciate some recommendations/confirmation of requirements.

My recollection is as follows:
5/8 inch fine thread bolts
1.75 inch bolt length
standard nuts (no washers)
Grade 5 (or do I need grade 8?)
Torque to the limit of the 1/2 inch air impact

That is what I do, grade 5 or 8 is personal preference, factory were grade 5.
