I've got a late 59 440ic gas. The bracket that supports the throttle shaft by the exhaust broke, and I lost the pivot spring, 12 608t. In looking at the parts book it looks like there are parts missing, like a spring over the shaft behind the bracket. The governor linkage has had some repair in the past. I'm not sure what the purpose of the missing parts are, maybe to keep the shaft from moving forward a bit?
Does anyone have a photo of a linkage fully assembled? Maybe the length of that spring, the one that hooks on the front, 12608t. I'm not sure I can find a spring, but can surely find a substitute, just trying to avoid too much guesswork.
The governor did seem to work properly before the bracket broke.

Re: 440ic governor/throttle linkage
Give Lavoy a call (701-361-1006 during CST business hours). I expect he will have the correct parts to fix you up.
Re: 440ic governor/throttle linkage
Thanks. I made a spring this evening.
I expect I'll just leave well enough alone. Mine looks like it a mixed bag of early and late model 440ic parts, and I wanted to see what a proper setup looked like assembled, but it's working.
