On a 440 ic- 442172 bevel gear bearing quills, does anyone know how thick the original m811t gaskets are. If I knew that, it might save me from removing the side bearings one more time.
I am rebearing the bevel gear assembly( actuall the whole transmission)
Thank you

Re: Rebearing bevel gear shaft- 440 ic
An update to my request for thickness of gaskets on bevel gear bearing quills. I made my own(.029 thick) will allow that for ea side.
Also when i went to install power shaft ( 5 spd trans ) to set up pre load, found cluster gear would start to seize, removed all gears from this shaft, reinstalled and set preload, then reinstalled with all gears etc, and found gear would jam, but was ok after i installed an extra .013 shims.
Removed shaft and gears, and had machine shop take .025” from shaft where engaging collar slides, the big washers was very hard, shaft was softer, so easier to machine. Should get it back today.
More later.
