440 won't move 448510 gas

Howdy from north east ohio!
Neighbor lady's husband died 8 years ago and she gave me his "ran when parked " 440 # 448510. I got the motor running great (i love flat heads) and hydraulics seem to work with no load.
I put the thing in gear and it will rock forward a little but doesn't seem to have the power to move, no drop in engine rpm, i can hear something straining so i don't push it.

Final drive was empty, is filled now reverser is disconnected the inside was packed with an unbelievable amount of mouse nest so i believe it has been dry for longer than 8 years. Its sitting with evapo rust right now.

Im a motorcycle guy the engine was cake to get working but the tracks and all the transmission parts are pretty new to me. Bought the owners manual but it was unhelpful, what service manual would you guys recommend?

The serial number makes it a 1959. That is not a flathead unless it has had a major transplant.

The service manual for a 440IC is John Deere publication SM2023. Lavoy Wilcox, provider of this website may well have reprints available through his store. Give him a call at 701-361-1006 during CST business hours. He is a great source of parts for them and technical help as his business is these older JD crawlers.

It sounds like you will be getting intimate with many parts of the crawler.
