Bill,
The new sub number gauge is still available, all of a hundred dollar bill. I am supposed to have one coming that is being loaned to me for patterning, but nothing as of right now.

Thanks Lavoy, I couldn't even find the substitute number so you're one ahead of me. Ever think about doing a reversable gauge with the JD227 profile on one side and the JD7 on the other?

Bill,
You can't, the new 227 gauge already has tabs on the other side.

Lavoy,

Are the tabs on the other side of the new gauge something that applies to the same crawler or a different crawler? Reason I ask is the old JD227 was a one sided deal so I can't imagine that the other side was anything you'd need. I do know that the high serial number engines had a mod that you needed to do to the gauge but it looked like it would still work for the older crawlers after the mod.

Bill,
I don't remember off the top of my head, but I wonder if it is for 2010 clutches. EIther that or it already mirrors the JD7 gauge. When I get one, I will compare it to a JD7 gauge, then we will know for sure.

I just found a pic of the 227 gauge in teh 2010 servicemanual. Not sure if it is the updated one or not, but the one in the pic definitely does not mirror the JD7 on the back side. According to the service manual, one side of the gauge does engine and steering on the 2010 crawler.
