Hey Lavoy, have another question to throw your way concerning the 1010 we have that just stopped moving in either direction, someone else has suggested that maybe a coupling that connects 2 shafts together may have spun the splines out of it and that it may not have been the engine clutch that went after all. Myself, I am not so sure about it being the engine clutch either since neither the crawler or clutch ever gave a hint that there was anything wrong or starting to go to hell. How posible is this and where and how do you get to this coupling?
We are going to drag the crawler down to a place where we can start to tear it apart this weekend since we are finally having good weather up here. Any insight will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Dan

Dan,
It is possible that it is the coupling, but normally this only happens on reverser crawler because the output shaft of the reverser changes directions and causes spline wear. On your crawler, it is always pulling in the same direction, so not as likely that it is the problem.
When you split the crawler to look at the clutch, you might be able to pull the drive shaft out with the coupling still on it, and then you can see. If not, and it is the problem, you will have to double split the crawler all the way to the front of the transmission.
